Fade

I thought I was ready to face you

I thought that I was strong

but seeing you only for a moment

I know now that I was wrong

The dreams and thoughts I have of you

trickle from night into my day

I wish that I could tell you everything

but I wouldn’t know what to say

All the moments we had together

the pictures on my shelf

remind me that I’m no longer the one you fell for

I’ve become someone else

As the dust collects on the frames

and the boxes are put away

so will time continue ticking

 and the memories will fade.
