Path

 I’ve struggled all my life

with one thing or another

never knew what to do

but always wished that I was stronger

I’ve been from place to place

in search of something missing

tried to fill the void with different things

but was always left with wishing

You knocked and knocked repeatedly

You tried to get my attention

but I kept brushing you aside

I just wouldn’t listen

I didn’t know which path to take

or where it would lead to

but finally I took a turn

the path that lead to you

You came into my life

poured into my soul

finally I let you have it all

gave you all control

Thinking back on everything

I realized how much You care

it just goes to show how amazing you are

and that you’re always there

Now the void is filled

I was never really alone

You were always by my side

My God, I’m truly home

I once was lost, but now I’m found

my search over at last

now focused on You, my God

finally on the right path.
